Canadians work hard for the money they earn. That’s why our Government has cut taxes over 100 times since coming to office in 2006 and reduced the overall tax burden on Canadians to its lowest level in 50 years.
Examples of tax relief include; reducing income taxes at every income level and cutting the GST from 7% to 6% to 5%, a tax cut enjoyed by all Canadians.
Our Government took action to help post-secondary students and trades people by creating tax breaks for textbooks and tools. Our Government is making it easier for Canadians to take public transit to work with the new Public Transit Tax Credit.
Hardworking families will benefit from the $1,200 a year Universal Child Care Benefit and the first-time home buyers’ tax credit.
These measures are making a real difference in the lives of Canadians; in fact the average Canadian family is receiving nearly $3,000 in tax savings this year.
