The active engagement of Canadian citizens is essential to the health of our democratic system and I thank each and every one of you who voted in the recent federal election. Your interest and participation are the backbone of our democracy.

I am also thankful that for the third consecutive election a majority of Calgary Centre voters have placed their trust in me to serve as Member of Parliament. It is an honour and privilege to serve and I thank you for your support.

The road ahead…
Canadians expect the next parliament to address the country’s issues in a constructive and co-operative manner. Our party has been given a strengthened mandate to proceed with cautious, pragmatic and affordable change and to manage our economy through the current international financial crisis.

As always, I welcome your views and comments. Input from constituents is essential to ensure that the issues and ideas that matter to Calgary Centre residents are heard from and represented in Ottawa.
