Lee Richardson and other community leaders spent this Heritage Day at historic Fort Calgary for the 100th Anniversary of the Deane House and the opening of the Confluence Node Exhibit.
Lee delivered greetings on behalf of the Federal Government, which donated over $100,000 to the Deane House. The house was originally built in 1906 for the Superintendent of Fort Calgary, Captain Richard Deane. The City of Calgary purchased the house in 1973 and it is was designated a Registered Historic Resource in 1978.
In addition, Lee cut the ribbon and delivered greetings for the dedication of the Confluence Node Exhibit. The exhibit includes a hard surfaced plaza with benches, signage and native plants.
